Emanating Beauty

Oradess was again in action with our mobile Powder Room this time taking care of the crew and guests of the 25th Anniversary Make-a-Wish Ball.  It was great to be back alongside my wonderful colleague Merle Dymmock, it has been awhile.  We love our charity work and love meeting the wonderful women that cross our path - it always makes for a fun night.

This time I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and beautifying Melissa Doyle from Sunrise.  She has for a longtime been on my list of people I would love to have a chat with.  I started watching Sunrise back when I had my son, 7 years ago.  You can't really do much when you are sitting feeding and getting used to the fact that your world has just been tipped on it's head.  I have since then been a devotee of the show (except for the bouts of channel tennis between 7 and ABC3).  I always felt that Sunrise really had 'heart' presented by 'real' people.

Well..... I wasn't disappointed and in fact I have to say in Melissa I saw the epitome of Emanating Beauty.  When I met Melissa for the first time I was taken aback by her beauty....but not her physical beauty just that she emanated a radiance of gentle kindness and quiet confidence which to me made her extraordinarily beautiful.  She is a shining example of how inside beauty meets outside beauty.  I am sure if I had been met with an abrupt, unkind person (not that I was expecting to be but it has happened) she wouldn't have been anywhere near as beautiful.  What a wonderful role model for us all.

This was sadly the opposite of what I encountered in the Powder Room during the evening's festivities.  I heard many women declare - "I wish I had that person's hair" "I want that person's eye's" and so on..........I took the opportunity then....and I take the opportunity now to say - LADIES.....LOVE WHO YOU ARE!

You can work with what you have and be as radiant and beautiful as Mel but it just has to come from within.  Sure....we all have those little things that we'd like to change given the chance but perhaps instead of saying "I wish I had those eye's or I wish I had that hair...."  We accept our physical attirbutes and ask?

  • "Is there a different way I could do MY hair that would make me feel great? or
  • "Can I learn a new way to do MY make-up to enhance and make MY eyes look more capitvating?"

These things are simple and are in no way an extreme example of ways you can make a big difference with a little change.

Just a thought!
